BOOK LAUNCH

Finally...... Some pictures from the Homemade book launch. English champagne from Chapel Down in Kent, served by Martha and two of her teenage friends. Homemade Elderflower cordial made in early Summer 2008 in old lemonade bottles in front of a jug of foliage from Elspeth's seaside garden. It was also my birthday and a friend gave me these amazing chocolate buttons. VV Rouleaux, with it's ribbons, bows, feathers and trimmings couldn't have been a better choice.

What a delightfully good omen to have your book launch at VV Rouleaux. The best store on earth! And, on your birthday as well! Hearty congratulations and best wishes. I cannot wait to get my hot little hands on a copy!

I am even sorrier than I already was to not have been able to make it.

A belated Happy Birthday. If I could bottle the lovely feedback comments people have given us in the shop about Homemade, they would make the perfect gift - your ears should be burning!

Oh I wISH WIsh WiSH my library would buy more copies! Already the queue is so long!! Darn it I shall just have to buy a copy - but I tried - didn't I? I showed thrift and restraint - but heck! 9th in a queue of 14 is no consolation! t.x

I haven't bought it [yet] but have had the book on loan from the library. I saw it both on Jane Brocket's blog and also in Sherezade Goldsmith's Mail on Sunday column. Unfortunately, there is a queue and it had to go back before I would have liked which may mean I'll have to buy it after all! Beautiful book with lovely inspirational pics.
Word veryfication: remnants!!! [recycling in the forefront or what?]

I would appreciated your assistance here. I recently bought a copy of your book 'Homemade' and it is very good for the soul indeed!
In the chapter 'Modern patchwork'(pg 65) there is a photo of a beautiful skirt made from scraps of worn shirts. There is no reference made or any tips on how to piece together this lovely creation. For instance is there a backing fabric, a zip closure or an elasticated waistband??
I think that it was included in the book to show just what can be achieved in patchwork with recycled materials but this would make a really good project in itself and a few guidelines on its construction would be extremely appreciated.
Are you able to provide some tips or maybe direct me to someone who can.
Many thanks
Sarah
